IBM Digital Influence Program – Richard Ivey Case Study

The Digital Influence program had been launched in February 2010, after almost eight months of planning. Seventy-five software subject matter experts (SMEs) were selected to help the firm achieve its desired objectives.

On August 16, 2011, in dialogue with Roshni Sengupta, Digital Strategy and Marketing manager, IBM Software Group, India/South Asia, (see Exhibit 1), Bajaj asserted that IBM’s achievements, though commendable in such a short time, were not unexpected.

However, the objectives of the digital influence strategy—an increase in brand perception and the creation of technology evangelists— remained to be achieved.

Within a year, in 2011, share of reach for all the brands had improved substantially. Lotus had the maximum rate of increase at 1,933 per cent, followed by Information Management (IM) with 421.8 per cent.

Although the percentage increase was as per the projections, Bajaj was hesitant about declaring victory at this point. Was the model sustainable? What challenges did IBM face in the implementation process? Would the current plan of operations help IBM gain market space and create technical evangelists?

What are your biggest Learnings from life?

“You have got to do your own growing , no matter how tall your grandfather was.”

Irish proverb

When I read this proverb ,for the first time, a few years in a book by #Shishir Srivastava (author of the book) namely “The Eight Powers within you” , it didn’t make sense to me.

When I look back today ,after 8 years, it just made me feel powerful and I honored myself and my soul with immense gratitude. I said what a wise saying by a wise person. I used be carried away by motivational speakers and personal development leaders and entrepreneurs – for eg Vishen Lakhiani Tony Robbins Robin Sharma and many others.

I used to follow whatever strategies and talks and think that oh! they can do the stuff but I cannot because of umpteen reasons I could think of !!

But when I started on my journey to self realization,I got to know one thing..there is something common that we all have within us – It is that Will Power, that divine spark and each one of us are given a new day with an opportunity to learn , reflect , act , unlearn , let go and grow.

And if we keep doing one thing out of this again and again -we can certainly grow. You cant see this in a tangible way , it can be only experienced through your reflections , thought process , behaviours and feelings of happiness, inner tranquility, mental equilibrium, joy.

So I invite each one of you today, is to look within and identify that one big learning or area of growth . write down in one statement – Where has the biggest learning come from, in your life ?

* Does it come from relationships ? Career ? Fitness? Community ? Business ? Profession? and let me know here!

Chances are that the person who has done the qualitative analysis between Becoming and Doing by pausing , reflecting ,regathering their energy and have acted wisely have grown immensely and not the ones who are constantly busy in the act of ‘doing’ …

I’d rather ‘Become’ who I want to ‘BE’ than ‘DO’ the things I don’t wan’t to ‘BE”. That’s what defines my growth and learning.

Whats the Purpose of your life?

Dear Divine Beings of Light. Archangels and Lord Ganesha ask you today what’s the purpose of your life?

How much time you spend with yourself and how much do you try and distract yourself. Are you always suppressing your inner world or are you wanting to deal with the stuff that keeps coming up. First thing to do is to keep writing down all you feel. It will help you bring clarity and clear some part of your trauma. So many times you are not even aware you are in trauma. It’s just a part of your that keeps hurting. It’s very important to understand yourself and your emotions and work on it before making efforts to make your relationships better. Inner silence will lead you to your inner truth. Inner truth will help you in God realization.

Eventually your soul will be spurged and replenished with positive light.

*Affirmation : I focus on my inner world. I am the light.*

‘Becoming’ that Buddha

Wat Pho – Thailand , Temple of reclining Buddha

In Life there are areas where you feel stuck , isnt it ?

And nothing seems to create a shift for you? So how do we bring awareness to those areas?

By ‘Becoming’

By becoming the observer of your own feelings you will come to a greater understanding of yourself and be better able to let things go as negative emotions release their grip on you.

How to become an Observer?
I first came across the notion of being an observer in ‘Thresholds of the Mind’ by Bill Harris. Bill calls it, Finding the Witness.
The idea is that part of you observes what is happening even as it happens. When you observe in this way you feel as if you are standing outside yourself and observing how you’re feeling, what you are doing, and how you’re interacting with your environment.

You learn incredible amounts about yourself by doing this and after a really short space of time you begin to have a greater understanding of your emotions. This gives you a choice to respond better to your emotions.

Dreaming that ‘Beingness’

I want you to explore resolutions that focus on who you want to be and Dream that “BEINGNESS”.

First, to clarify, there’s nothing wrong with pursuing abundance and personal excellence. It’s probably worthwhile to avoid getting attached to the money and possessions you acquire or becoming overly identified with your achievements, but these pursuits, especially if they serve a higher cause, provide satisfaction and support happiness. And of course, what you do also demonstrates and reinforces who you are.

But external forms of achievement can’t satisfy us forever…

What are Akashic records?

Akashic—loosely translated from its Sanskrit roots—means ethers or ‘that which holds all’. This ‘database’ of information transcends all realms and dimensions and can be thought of as a massive library of information (to make it more easily understood in our 3D based reality). Akashic records reader Simrin Gregory likens it to, “an energetic database that stores every choice we have ever made as individual souls.” The Akashic records can also be thought of as a celestial mirror, reflecting our choices and desires, and when required provide an audience with our Higher Self to understand how these choices have impacted us. Eg: A creative person in a number-crunching job that doesn’t align with their soul path will feel depleted and unhappy. Accessing the reasons behind this choice gives them the option to align with their soul’s purpose, and make a choice that brings them into their bliss.

Psychologically and metaphysically, trauma can be passed down through generations. Learning to access and unlock your Akashic records can not only help release ancestral karmic debt—thereby freeing yourself as well—it also opens the door to universal grace and blessings.
According to Gregory, “getting to know our basic soul nature is very validating. The records help us to not only identify our strengths but also the dysfunctional aspects of our soul makeup.” For example, if a soul who is meant to be a communicator is suppressed as a child, it might later show up as problems with communicating the truth. If these mental and emotional imbalances persist without being addressed, they finally manifest in the physical body as diseases or aches and pains, she says.
The Akashic records help identify the unchanging core of our own individual selves and help us understand and eventually confront the fears/phobias and other energetic blocks and patterns we carry through from childhood and even past lifetimes. We can initiate changes to start afresh making new and better choices, which are more aligned to our true nature.

Are you willing to accept your shadow self ?

Shadow therapy or work is an illusionary web that the mind spins psychologically to create a veil of darkness .. We all have the veils of darkness ,don’t we?

Ever wondered why the moon is associated to shadow self and the Sun to light?
(metaphorically, it symbolises the mother / psyche / subconscious mind) and Sun symbolises the father / will power / conscious mind.

Ever remember our parents telling us -“You are stupid”. “You are like that only.” “You will never change your habits”. Where did this come from? Probably from their parents? and whom did they pass it on to – us!

The moon draws energy from Sun and that’s where she gets her power from.

Similarly the darkness in our minds could be drawing power from our environment and soul conditioning / patterning, and the negative suggestions / statements and imprints that form the basis of the shadow self building up.

At times,it could manifest from self limiting beliefs or thought patterns …emotions such as fear, anger, uncertainty or being in the unknown zone or untrodden path.

The layering of the veil constantly influencing our minds , is that keeps us thinking we can never change ! We tell our selves that and we imbibe it in our belief systems and we become that ..

The works of Maa Kali (Goddess of Transformation) she symbolises change and when she enters your life – she awakens that truth or true nature within you, somewhere nudges you to connect to your true self / Authentic self ie divinity and power, confidence and drives transformation.

She prompts you to look at the shadows and accept and embrace the whole self ( Mandala )and see that truest potential – you are that ‘illumined self’ and darkness is a veil that keeps you in the comfort zone.

Too much introspection or inaction leads to depression in the mind, fear , illusion etc. That’s why I ask my clients- How do you know you are depressed ?
It is dangerous to assume that psychiatric treatment is the answer to depression.

Do you recollect those darkest moments or shadow side of you? What did you do differently?
